Prevention first
Treat it before it becomes an illness
Chinese medicine has an old idea, zhi wei bing: treat what is not yet an illness. Fatigue, poor sleep, stiffness, weight that creeps up or a cycle that changes are read as signs that the body’s balance has tipped, often described as qi and blood not flowing well, long before a test shows a disease.
The whole body, not one label
The same symptom can mean different things
A Chinese medicine doctor asks how you sleep, eat, digest, feel the cold or heat, and how much energy you have, then looks at your tongue and face. Two people with the same complaint may be read differently, so the suggestion starts from you rather than from a disease name.
What people ask about
Problems that don’t fit a neat category
Tiredness and poor sleep, stress, aches and stiffness, weight and metabolism, blood sugar, hormones and periods, menopause, digestion, thinning hair. For anything already diagnosed, such as diabetes or a thyroid condition, Chinese medicine is used alongside your doctor and your medicines, never instead of them.
Tongue and face
What a doctor reads from your tongue and face
The colour, coating and shape of the tongue and the colour of the face are part of every Chinese medicine assessment. Photo reading is coming soon on this page. For now, describe what you notice, and the doctor will tell you if they need to see you in person.
What you get
A written reading, not a diagnosis
You get the doctor’s view of your constitution and pattern, and practical suggestions on food, sleep and routine, plus which treatments they would consider if you come to China. It is not a diagnosis or a prescription. If something needs urgent attention, see your own doctor first.
We handle the China part
If you decide to come, one coordinator for the whole trip
Most people combine a Chinese medicine consultation with a full health checkup on the same trip. We book the hospital, meet you at the airport, arrange a hotel near the hospital, put an interpreter beside you at every appointment and translate your notes into English.

Questions people ask
Can Chinese medicine help when doctors can’t find anything wrong?
Chinese medicine reads symptoms such as tiredness, stiffness or poor sleep as signs of imbalance in the whole body, even when tests are normal. A doctor can describe your pattern and suggest changes and treatments to try. It is used alongside conventional care, and results differ from person to person.
What can a Chinese medicine doctor tell from your tongue?
The colour, coating, shape and moisture of the tongue are read together with your symptoms to judge your pattern, for example signs of heat, cold or dampness. It is one part of the assessment, not a test for a disease.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. You get a Chinese medicine reading and lifestyle suggestions from a doctor at a partner hospital. It does not replace a diagnosis or treatment from your own doctor, and it is not a prescription.
How much does it cost, and what happens to my information?
The reading is free. Your answers are sent to us and passed to a Chinese medicine doctor at a partner hospital in China for this reading only, and deleted after 305 days.
Can I see a Chinese medicine doctor in China as a foreigner?
Yes. Public hospitals in China have Chinese medicine departments, and an outpatient consultation at a Beijing public tertiary hospital costs CNY 50–100 (≈ USD 7–15) depending on the physician’s grade. We arrange the appointment and an interpreter.
