Rhinoplasty in China

Rhinoplasty, a full health checkup and a TCM consultation in one trip

China is not the cheapest place for a nose job. Korea and Turkey sell mature rhinoplasty packages at prices Chinese private clinics often match or exceed. What China adds is the rest of the trip: the same visit can include a full health checkup at a public hospital and a TCM consultation. In China, each hospital sets its own price; one public hospital’s published fee for rhinoplasty was CNY 7,500 (≈ USD 1,100) (2021, implant extra), while private clinics charge more. Honest about price

China is not cheaper than Korea or Turkey for rhinoplasty

A Turkish hospital group lists aesthetic rhinoplasty at EUR 3,650–5,600 including a hospital night (2026), and typical Korean prices for foreign patients are KRW 4,000,000–7,500,000. Private “nose combination” surgery in China is about CNY 25,000–50,000 (≈ USD 3,750–7,450), and the surgeon’s seniority strongly drives the price. Choose China if you want the same trip to do more.

How prices work in China

Each hospital sets its own price, so get an itemised quote

Aesthetic surgery in China is market-regulated, and each hospital files its own price. The public-hospital lists we found are old: CNY 7,500 (≈ USD 1,100) for rhinoplasty at one public dermatology hospital (2021), excluding implant material, anaesthesia, tests and drugs. Add-ons exist for repeat surgery and for grafts of your own tissue. International departments may charge more than the list, so ask for every line in writing.

Health checkup

A full checkup in one morning

Bloods, ultrasound and imaging with a doctor’s review, at a public hospital. One Hangzhou public hospital publishes four tiers: A CNY 1,320–1,670 (≈ USD 200–250), B CNY 2,880–3,411 (≈ USD 430–510), C CNY 3,980–4,703 (≈ USD 590–700) and D CNY 6,880–7,723 (≈ USD 1,050–1,150); tier D includes CT, a head MRI plus one other area and tumour markers.

TCM consultation

A TCM constitution check, alongside your treatment

A hospital TCM physician reads your tongue and pulse, describes your constitution and suggests changes to diet, sleep and daily routine. A consultation costs CNY 50–100 (≈ USD 7–15) at a Beijing public tertiary hospital, depending on the physician’s grade. It is general supporting care, not a treatment for swelling after surgery and not part of your surgical aftercare. Results differ from person to person, and TCM is used alongside medical care, not instead of it.

How long to stay

Plan for one to two weeks in China

Surgery takes 1.5–3 hours under general anaesthetic, with 1 or 2 nights in hospital, and the splint comes off after about a week (NHS). Surgeons commonly advise waiting 7–14 days before flying, and you fly when your surgeon clears you. Bruising can last up to 3 weeks, and swelling can take up to 6 months to go fully.

Common questions

How much does rhinoplasty cost?

The NHS puts UK rhinoplasty at GBP 4,000–7,000. In the US, the average surgeon’s fee alone is USD 7,637 (ASPS), before anaesthesia and facility costs. Typical prices are CAD 7,000–15,000 in Canada, KRW 4,000,000–7,500,000 for foreign patients in Korea and EUR 3,650–5,600 in Turkey. In China, private “nose combination” surgery is about CNY 25,000–50,000 (≈ USD 3,750–7,450); older public-hospital lists show CNY 7,500 (≈ USD 1,100) for the surgery fee alone.

How much does a revision rhinoplasty cost?

Revision usually costs more than a first surgery. UK providers charge GBP 5,500–10,000 (2026), Canadian revision is typically CAD 10,000–20,000 or more, and revision with rib cartilage in Korea is about KRW 9,000,000–15,000,000. In China, hospitals add a fee for repeat surgery and for grafts of your own tissue; one hospital filed CNY 2,000 (≈ USD 300) for each add-on in 2026, on top of the base fee.

How much does septorhinoplasty cost?

Rhinoplasty combined with septum surgery costs more than cosmetic rhinoplasty alone: GBP 5,000–9,000 at UK providers, about AUD 13,990–18,990 at private surgeons in Australia, EUR 3,900–7,150 in Turkey and THB 265,000 for a reduction rhinoplasty with septum correction package at a Bangkok hospital. In China, ask for an itemised quote, because each hospital sets its own price.

How long does swelling last after rhinoplasty?

Bruising around the eyes can last up to 3 weeks, and by then most bruising, swelling and redness may have faded. The NHS says swelling can take up to 6 months to go fully, and the final result can take up to a year. Follow your own surgeon’s aftercare.

How long is the recovery after rhinoplasty?

The splint and stitches come off after about a week. The NHS suggests up to 2 weeks off work, swimming from about 3 weeks and strenuous exercise from 4–6 weeks. If you travel for surgery, plan to stay until your surgeon clears you to fly, commonly 7–14 days.
