Scan + checkup + TCM

A scan alone isn’t worth the flight. A scan, a full checkup and a TCM consultation in one trip might be

An MRI in China costs a fraction of a self-paid scan at home, but on its own it rarely covers a long-haul ticket. Put the scan, a full health checkup and a Chinese medicine consultation into one short stay, with one plan and one quote.

1 · Your scan

The MRI or CT you need, with a report

Patients in China report paying a median of about CNY 484 (≈ USD 72) for a plain MRI of one body part and about CNY 210 (≈ USD 31) for a plain CT (Chinese patient reports, 2025–26). You get the images and a radiologist’s report, which we translate into English for your doctor at home.

2 · Health checkup

A full checkup in the same hospital system

Patients in China report paying a median of about CNY 1,500 (≈ USD 220) for a full health checkup, mostly CNY 530–4,000 (≈ USD 79–600), and about CNY 4,000 (≈ USD 600) for a high-end or VIP package (Chinese patient reports, 2025–26). Blood tests, ultrasound and an ECG usually take a morning.

3 · Chinese medicine

A TCM reading of the whole picture

A Chinese medicine physician reads your tongue and pulse, describes your constitution and suggests changes to diet, sleep and routine, or treatment such as acupuncture. A consultation costs about CNY 50–100 (≈ USD 7–15) depending on the physician’s grade. It is used alongside medical care, and people respond differently.

Why one trip

A short stay that adds up

A scan, a checkup and a TCM visit can usually fit into a few days in one city. Together they turn a single test into a fuller picture of your health, for a total that is still often below one self-paid scan in a US hospital.
