Rhinoplasty in Korea, Turkey or China: An Honest Comparison
Published
“Korea doctors are skilled in building up a nose, dealing with adding a bridge and tip refinement. … you need the opposite type of work like de projection, which Turkish doctors do extremely well … research them extensively as they are master marketers. However, they are much easier to research than Korean doctors.”
In one line
Korea suits people who want a higher bridge or a refined tip, Turkey suits hump reduction and has the most complete packages, and China is not cheaper than either but lets you add a full health checkup and traditional Chinese medicine to the same trip.
All prices are advertised ranges or older hospital price lists, not quotes. Choose the surgeon before the country, and plan on 7–14 days at the destination before a long flight home.
Korea and Turkey are the two places most people weigh up for a nose job abroad, and China comes up less often. This guide compares the three on price, style, how easy it is to research a surgeon, and how long you need to stay. China is not the cheapest of the three for rhinoplasty, and we say so plainly. Where it differs is what else you can fit into the same trip.
How much does rhinoplasty cost in Korea compared with Turkey and China?
A typical full rhinoplasty for a foreign patient in Korea costs about KRW 4–7.5 million, according to a 2026 patient guide, while a Turkish hospital group lists EUR 3,650–5,600 for an aesthetic rhinoplasty (2026). Prices in China spread much wider: published public hospital lists give CNY 5,300–14,700 (≈ USD 790–2,200) for the surgeon's fee alone (2016–2021), and Chinese consumer guides put private clinic packages at about CNY 25,000–80,000 (≈ USD 3,750–11,950) (2025–26).
Korean clinics also advertise event prices from about KRW 940,000 on booking platforms (2026). These are promotional starting prices for simple cases, not what most foreign patients end up paying. Revision surgery with rib cartilage is quoted at KRW 9–15 million in Korea, according to the same 2026 guide. Turkish prices usually include the consultation, anaesthetist, one hospital night, the splint and first checks, and package versions with 5–7 hotel nights and airport transfers are advertised at about EUR 3,500–4,500 (2026).
Rhinoplasty prices: advertised ranges and hospital lists
| Where | Price | What it usually covers | Source type |
|---|---|---|---|
| South Korea | KRW 4,000,000–7,500,000 | Surgery; hotel usually extra | Patient guide, 2026 |
| Turkey | EUR 3,650–5,600 (EUR 3,900–7,150 with septum work) | Surgery, anaesthetist, 1 hospital night, splint, first checks | Hospital group price page, 2026 |
| Thailand | THB 207,000 | Reduction rhinoplasty, 1 night | Hospital package, valid to end of 2026 |
| China, public hospital lists | CNY 5,300–14,700 (≈ USD 790–2,200) | Surgeon's fee only; implants, anaesthesia and tests extra | Hospital price lists, 2016–2021 |
| China, private clinics | CNY 25,000–80,000 (≈ USD 3,750–11,950) | Varies; rib cartilage at the top end | Chinese consumer guides, 2025–26 |
| USA | USD 7,500–12,500 | Surgeon's fee only | ASPS, 2024 |
| UK | GBP 4,000–7,000 | Varies by clinic | NHS website |
In China, aesthetic surgery is priced by each hospital rather than by a national tariff, under a 2025 national pricing rule reported by Xinhua. The public hospital lists we found are old and exclude implants, anaesthesia, tests and medicines, so a current price for a foreign patient has to come from a written quote.
Is Korea a good place for rhinoplasty?
Korea is a good place for many people, especially those who want a higher bridge, a more defined tip or a subtle change. It is also one of the most regulated markets for foreign patients. Only institutions registered to attract foreign patients may recruit them, and Korea's health ministry counted 1.17 million foreign patients in 2024, about 102,000 of them from the US, with plastic surgery making up 11.4% (reported April 2025). Since September 2023, operating rooms must have cameras and record surgery when the patient asks, a rule aimed at so-called ghost surgery, where someone other than the agreed surgeon operates.
The weak point patients mention is research. Long-term results and past-patient groups for individual Korean surgeons are harder to find in English than for Turkish surgeons, so you may have to rely more on the clinic's own photos. Ask for unedited photos taken at least a year after surgery.
Is Turkey a good place for rhinoplasty?
Turkey is a strong option, particularly for reducing a hump or a large nose, and its package model is the most mature of the three. Turkey received about 1.4 million health tourists across all treatments in 2023, according to press reports, and many Istanbul surgeons focus mainly on rhinoplasty. Packages usually bundle the hospital night, hotel and transfers, which makes the trip simple to organise.
Turkey has clear rules too. Health tourism may only be provided by facilities holding a Ministry of Health authorisation certificate, and a new regulation in force since April 2025 also licenses the agencies that sell packages. Ask for the facility's certificate in writing. The concerns people raise about Turkey are high patient volume, heavy marketing and a house style that can look sculpted rather than subtle, so look at many results from the specific surgeon, not the clinic.
“Going solo for rhinoplasty in Turkey is definitely doable but you'll need to plan everything out beforehand. Make sure your hotel has room service or delivery options since cooking might be tough first few days when you're swollen and tired. Also check if the clinic offers any post-op care visits or has nurses who can check on you.”
Which country is best for rhinoplasty, and where does China fit?
No country is best for everyone; the surgeon, and how well their usual style suits the nose you have, matters more than the country. Patients often sum it up as Korea for building a nose up and Turkey for taking one down. Thailand sits in between on price, with one Bangkok hospital listing THB 207,000 for a reduction rhinoplasty, including one night, in 2026.
China is not cheaper than Korea or Turkey for rhinoplasty, and private clinic prices in large cities can be higher. The reasons some people still look at China are different. Rhinoplasty is common there, rib cartilage work is widely offered, and a single trip can combine surgery with a full health checkup at a public hospital and a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) consultation.
“I'm personally looking in to China as I want rib only (no implants), I also prefer the microhump style, although Korea is a lot easier to research.”
What one trip can include
| Korea or Turkey | China | |
|---|---|---|
| Rhinoplasty | Yes | Yes |
| Ready-made foreign-patient packages with hotel and transfers | Yes, widely available | Fewer; usually arranged case by case |
| Full health checkup (blood tests, ultrasound, CT or MRI) | Not usually part of a rhinoplasty trip | Public hospital checkup packages about CNY 1,320–7,723 (≈ USD 200–1,150) |
| TCM consultation and acupuncture | Not usually available | Acupuncture about CNY 70 (≈ USD 10) per session at public hospitals (Fujian price list, 2025) |
China's rules for who may operate are specific. Under the national rules on aesthetic medical services (revised 2016), a clinic must hold a medical institution practising licence, and the doctor who leads aesthetic surgery must be a licensed physician with at least six years of clinical work in aesthetic or plastic surgery. Plan the checkup and any TCM before the operation rather than during recovery, and do not assume TCM is part of surgical aftercare unless the hospital confirms it in writing.
Is an online consultation enough to choose a clinic abroad?
An online consultation is a useful first filter, but it is not enough on its own to commit. Many clinics in Korea, Turkey and China will look at photos and tell you whether they can do what you want and roughly what it costs. The surgeon still needs to examine your nose in person, including the inside if breathing is a concern, before the final plan and price are fixed.
Use the online stage to ask the questions that decide the trip: who will operate and see you afterwards, what the price covers (anaesthesia, hospital night, implants or cartilage, follow-up), what happens if a revision is needed, and how long you must stay before flying. The NHS says the splint comes off after about a week, bruising can last up to 3 weeks and swelling can take up to 6 months to settle fully. Clinic pages usually advise 7–14 days before a long flight, and one Turkish hospital group suggests about 7 nights in Istanbul.
Note: Prices in China are set by each hospital, and international or VIP departments may charge more than the listed price. Ask for a written quote that separates the surgeon's fee, anaesthesia, materials such as implants or rib cartilage, and the hospital stay.
Korea, Turkey or China for rhinoplasty? An honest comparison
Korea and Turkey are the best-known destinations. Typical prices are KRW 4,000,000–7,500,000 in Korea and EUR 3,650–5,600 in Turkey, including a hospital night. China is not cheaper: private clinics charge about CNY 25,000–50,000 (≈ USD 3,750–7,450). The reason to choose China is that the same trip can add a full health checkup and a TCM consultation.
