“I got snap ons. … 3 implants on top and 3 on bottom with snap on dentures. Something like 22 extractions i was quoted around 25k in the states and I paid $8500 in Mexico. I wish I had done it years ago. I wore regular dentures as my temps and hated every second of it.”
In one line
Full-arch implants cost about USD 20,000–35,000 or more per arch in the US and GBP 9,500–18,000 in the UK; Mexico, Turkey, Hungary and China all advertise far less, and the right destination depends on distance, what the quote includes and how you will manage two trips.
China has no official full-arch price, so any quote should be built from your own CT scan. Expect two trips 3–6 months apart: about 7–10 days, then 4–7 days.
Full-arch treatment replaces a whole row of teeth with a bridge or denture held by a small number of implants. It is often sold as All-on-4 or All-on-X, and it is one of the most expensive treatments in dentistry. This guide covers what it costs per arch in different countries, where people go, how long it takes, what recovery is like, and when it is the right choice.
How much does All-on-4 cost per arch in Mexico, the US, the UK and China?
Advertised prices run from about USD 20,000–35,000 or more per arch in the US to a few thousand dollars in Turkey, with Mexico, Hungary and China in between. These are marketing figures from clinics and brokers, and many leave out the CT scan, extractions, bone grafts or the final bridge.
Typical advertised full-arch (All-on-4) price per arch
| Country | Price per arch | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| USA | USD 20,000–35,000+ | Broker and review guides, 2025–26 |
| UK | GBP 9,500–18,000 | Clinic guide, 2025 |
| Mexico (Los Algodones) | From USD 8,500; USD 11,000 at another clinic | Clinic price lists, 2026 |
| Turkey | USD 3,000–8,000 | Hospital group guide, 2025–26 |
| Hungary | EUR 5,900–7,800 (full jaw) | Broker guide, 2025–26 |
| China | From about CNY 50,000 (≈ USD 7,450); no official figure | Chinese-language guides, 2026 |
China has no official price for full-arch work. Its 2023 national reform capped the service fee for routine single implants, but the National Healthcare Security Administration (2022) lets hospitals price complex cases such as full-arch restorations separately. Chinese-language guides (2026) cite from about CNY 50,000 (≈ USD 7,450) for All-on-4 or All-on-6 after the reform, and ranges are wide. Patients in China report totals of about CNY 84,000 (≈ USD 12,550) to CNY 138,000 (≈ USD 20,600) for 12 implants across both jaws, with Beijing at the top of that range. What the reform did fix is the price of the implants themselves. In the national tender, premium brands such as Straumann, Dentsply and Nobel fell from about CNY 5,000 (≈ USD 750) to about CNY 1,850 (≈ USD 280) per implant system, and popular Korean brands from about CNY 1,500 (≈ USD 220) to about CNY 770 (≈ USD 110), according to China News Service (2023). With four to six implants per arch, that adds up.
Where can you get full-mouth implants done?
Full-arch implants are offered in most countries, and the main destinations abroad each have a different strength. Mexico, especially the border town of Los Algodones, is the obvious choice for many Americans because it is close enough to drive to, which makes follow-up visits easier. Turkey has some of the lowest advertised prices and very established packages that bundle hotel and transfers. Hungary is a common choice for people in the UK and Europe.
China is a long flight from the US, the UK, Canada and Australia, and on advertised prices it is not the cheapest. What it offers is full-arch surgery inside the dental departments of large public hospitals, with oral surgeons, prosthodontists, CT imaging and anaesthesia on one site, and regulated prices for the implant parts. Because many full-arch patients are older, some also book a full health checkup at the same hospital during the first visit; at Hangzhou First People's Hospital, checkup packages range from CNY 1,320–1,670 (≈ USD 200–250) to CNY 6,880–7,723 (≈ USD 1,050–1,150).
How long does All-on-4 take, and how many visits do you need?
Most people need two trips, 3–6 months apart. According to trip-planning guides from clinics serving international patients (2026), the first trip for full-arch surgery usually takes 7–10 days, and the second, for the permanent bridge, 4–7 days. In between, the implants fuse with the bone, which usually takes 3–6 months according to clinical guides.
“Full-mouth implants are not like your own teeth. I had 12 implants placed, and then waited 3–6 months to have the bridges fitted.”
You may leave the first trip with fixed temporary teeth on the day of surgery, but only if the implants are very stable in good bone, according to a clinical review. Otherwise the implants are left to heal for 8–12 weeks before they carry teeth. If you need bone grafting first, add another stage.
Typical full-arch timeline
- 1
Before you travel
Have a recent CT scan reviewed and get an itemised written plan.
- 2
Trip 1: surgery (7–10 days)
Assessment, extractions, implant placement and, if the bone allows, fixed temporary teeth.
- 3
Healing at home (3–6 months)
The implants fuse with the bone. Soft food at first, careful cleaning and a local check.
- 4
Trip 2: final bridge (4–7 days)
Impressions, try-in and fitting of the permanent bridge, with bite adjustment.
- 5
Long term
Daily cleaning under the bridge and regular hygiene visits at home.
How painful is full-mouth implant treatment, and what are the risks?
The surgery itself is usually less painful than people fear, but the first weeks are uncomfortable and there are real risks. Patients in China report that the local anaesthetic injection is the sharpest part, that full-arch surgery takes about two hours, that swelling peaks around two to three days later, and that stitches come out after about a week. A few say the later stages, when parts are tightened and impressions taken, were more uncomfortable than the surgery.
“I had full-mouth implants a week ago. My mouth feels full of something foreign and my speech is slurred. I don't know how long it takes to recover, and I'm really anxious.”
The risks include infection, implants that do not fuse, nerve or sinus problems in some cases, and a long adjustment period for speech and biting. Longer term, inflammation around the implants and loose screws or chipped teeth can occur. Full-arch surgery is often done under sedation, so ask who gives it and how you will be monitored. Smoking, gum disease and poorly controlled diabetes all raise the risk.
When is All-on-4 recommended over single implants or dentures?
All-on-4 tends to suit people who have lost, or are about to lose, most of the teeth in one jaw and want teeth that do not come out. If several teeth in that jaw are still healthy, individual implants or a smaller bridge may let you keep them and cost less. If budget is the main limit, a snap-in denture on a few implants is a common middle ground: it comes out for cleaning but is far more stable than a regular denture. Ask any dentist to set out all three options against your own scan, so you can judge whether a fixed arch is worth the extra cost for you.
How many teeth are removed, and are All-on-4 implants removable?
For a fixed full arch, all the remaining teeth in that jaw are usually removed, and the bridge is fixed to four to six implants. Patients in China describe both All-on-4, with eight implants across both jaws, and All-on-6, with twelve. The bridge is screwed in, so only a dentist can take it off, usually for cleaning or repair.
The implants can last many years, but they are not maintenance-free. You need to clean under the bridge every day, often with a water flosser or special brushes, and see a dentist or hygienist regularly. Before you leave any clinic abroad, get the implant brand and system and the bridge material in writing, so a dentist at home can look after it.
A full-arch quote should state
- Number and brand of implants per arch
- CT scan, extractions and any bone grafting
- Sedation or anaesthesia, and who gives it
- The temporary teeth fitted after surgery
- The final bridge, its material, and whether it is included
- All reviews between the two trips
- What happens if an implant fails, in writing
- Records you take home: implant system, scans and a treatment summary in English
